OVERVIEW
The homeowners were dealing with a 40-year-old 100A panel that could no longer keep up with the demands of a modern household. Frequent breaker trips, flickering lights during appliance use, and no available capacity for future upgrades made a full panel replacement the clear next step. VoltPro was brought in to design and install a 200A service that would support the home today and for years to come.
THE CHALLENGE
The existing panel was undersized, outdated, and non-compliant with current code. Several circuits were double-tapped, grounding was inconsistent throughout the home, and the utility service entrance needed to be coordinated with the local power company to avoid extended outages during the swap.
THE SOLUTION
Our team scheduled the upgrade around a single coordinated shutoff window, pre-building the new panel wiring off-site to minimize downtime. We replaced the service entrance, installed a new 40-circuit 200A panel with proper labeling, corrected all grounding and bonding issues, and added whole-home surge protection before signing off with the local inspector.
